Low Alloy Steel Q345B and Q355B
Q345 is a low-alloy carbon steel with a carbon content below 0.2%. It is valued for its overall performance and is used in structural applications across several industries.

In the grade designation, “Q” refers to the yield point. The number “345” indicates a yield value of approximately 345 MPa; the yield value decreases as material thickness increases.
Q345 Steel Properties and Overview
Q345 steel is a Chinese GB standard low-alloy high-strength structural steel. Its material density is 7.85 g/cm³, tensile strength is 470–630 MPa, and yield strength is 345 MPa. These datasheet values are tested using steel bars or plates with a 16 mm diameter or thickness.
Under GB/T 1591–2008, Q345 material includes five quality grades: Q345A, Q345B, Q345C, Q345D and Q345E. “Q” is the first letter of the Chinese Pinyin “qu fu dian,” meaning yield point, while “345” refers to 345 MPa. Refer to the specification details below.
